In August this year, the governments of Wuhan and Chongqing took the lead in issuing the pilot policy of full unmanned commercialization of self-driving in China, allowing self-driving vehicles without safety officers to carry out commercial services on social roads. Therefore, in certain areas of Economic Development Zone in Wuhan and Yongchuan District in Chongqing, you can catch unmanned self-driving taxis. It is reported that this is also the country's first to explore the ultimate format of commercialization of autonomous driving.

The fully unmanned taxis opened in Yongchuan District, Chongqing, have an operating area of 30 square kilometers, and there are 5 vehicles in operation, covering commercial centers, schools, residential areas, etc. In Wuhan Economic Development Zone, the open area of driverless taxis is 13 square kilometers, and there are 5 operating vehicles, covering subway stations and residential communities.

In fact, today, more than 10 cities such as Chongqing, Wuhan, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai offer self-driving travel services, and more than 20 cities are conducting large-scale self-driving tests. The state has successively launched a series of support policies to promote the progress and commercialization of driverless technology.

In May of this year, in Xiuhu Park in Chongqing, the trial of wireless charging self-driving sightseeing bus was started. This sightseeing bus, named Xiaoyu, has a cruising range of 150km when it is fully charged with primary electricity and the air conditioner is turned on.

The whole vehicle is equipped with 4 laser radars, 2 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 cameras, which are equivalent to the driver's eyes and ears, and can realize 360 perception of the environment and L4 automatic driving.

Not only that, "Xiaoyu" is equipped with wireless charging function. When passengers get on and off the bus, the energy is transferred to the receiving coil on the bus through the transmitting coil buried underground in advance to complete the charging. Using the parking time to wirelessly charge the vehicle, it also realizes stop-and-charge, charge-and-go, and self-charge in the whole process without manual intervention, which greatly improves the convenience, safety and intelligence of the running vehicle in the charging process.
